ik been een Guacie

Hi everyone! Good morning sleepyheads! Wake up! Mommy is cooking for you!

Another blog means another week down and more adventures adventured. Before I left the US, I told Charlie that this blog might be a disaster because I may never do anything fun, to which he responded ‘so make sure you’re doing something fun’. clocked it.

One of the highlights of this week was Miss Vivian visiting! Everyone please thank Julian for the second mattress that be bought for my room, originally intended so he didn’t have to share a twin bed with me but is now being used for the express purposes of housing fabulous guests and acting as a settee for blogging.

After lugging Miss Vivian’s suitcase (especially heavy due to a new purchase she refers to as her “rabbit”, a fur coat she purchased in London made from what I imagine is an entire lineage of black rabbits), and walking around Leuven (which she consistently referred to as “the village”), I went off to class while Julian and her went day-drinking.

I spent the entire class emailing administration trying to see how I can get exempt from taking this boring af class (been there and done all of that), and simultaneously getting texted boomerangs of these two drunkards cheers-ing their beers. #fomo

So naturally I joined them and went day drinking with them as well, creating a systematic beer-rating note in Julian’s phone. One of the categories was simply ‘Piper’s smell’ (curse you gluten intolerance). For the record, Stella Artois won.

Once we got home (post ice cream break), Julian and Vivian passed out and I made them dinner. Having them walk into the kitchen was like seeing two toddlers who just woke up from a three hour road trip: crazy baby hair, blood-shot eyes, and a dream-like wonder when they saw food was prepared for them.

After dinner, we went to the big opening night party in the Oude Markt, with pretty mid music but a packed dance floor. We met up with an Italian guy from my class named Eduoardo who gave us stickers to put on our foreheads from a Mexican restaurant which said “Ik ben een Guacie”. After a couple of hours of getting shoved on the dance floor, some Belgian tiktoker playing his new music from the DJ booth, and Julian almost getting in a couple fights (in which he legitimately yelled “Bro, be NICER!’), we went home and passed out.

The next day we went to Brussels and bought fur hats (I’m sorry Rabbit, but you really do look fabulous). We went around drinking coffees and going in and out of vintage shops, eating Belgian fries (which I just learned means they just fry them twice, so, big whoop), and seeing a fountain of a little girl peeing (she was pretty awesome icl, and she contrasts the very famous and touristy boy who pees, or “Manneken pees”).

After playing exploding kittens in a bar, Vivian packed up and left early in the morning. Vivian’s departure started the countdown of Julian leaving later that same day, so he took me on a breakfast date and I proceeded to spend the rest of the day crying and shouting about how much I hate “stupid Germany”.

That night, I remembered that this guy “R” invited me to sneak onto the next day’s economic faculty fieldtrip to Bruges, a cute city in the north of Belgium.

So Sunday morning I woke up early, didn’t put makeup on, and caught the train where “R” got on from Brussels. He proceeded to tell me I “look like I need coffee” and then proceeded to talk about “Euro trash” on a packed train in, well, Europe. I wanted to die. For those of you who know Charlie, it’s like in an alternate universe where Charlie became evil.

We met up with a large group of economic students (sounds frightening and it was at first). “R” proceeded to stay attached to my hip as I tried to make conversation with people, while he made fun of people’s accents, peer-pressured a sober 18 year-old Russian to drink, and made it out that he and I were a unit (mind you, I met this man a week ago).

So imagine my absolute glee when, about an hour into the trip, he pulled me aside and told me “I’m 24, I’m too old to do stuff I don’t want to do and so I am just gonna go”. HALLELUJAHHHH

So I spent the next few hours getting to know people, walking around an adorable city, taking a cute boat tour in the city canals, and getting lunch with a tall Dutch guy and a short German guy. They even demanded to take my picture so I could send it to my boyfriend. I had such a fun time and was glad to be rid of evil Charlie.

We spent the train ride back together and made a plan to play boardgames soon. Am I the coolest, or what?

Now its Monday, I miss my boyfriend and my friends and I have to do actual schoolwork. Also, grocery shopping is the worst. I hate it. Please someone come accompany me.

I don’t know where this week is gonna take me yet, but I have one coffee date set up with a tall Dutch girl and a desire to get more comfortable in my apartment. I have such a hard time being a homebody and getting work done in my space, and I want to try and change that. It’s only 10:35AM here and I already feel stir-crazy.

Also, if Henry is reading this, I would like to take this time to apologize for not posting for your birthday. My ex-friend ruined birthday posting for me and now I can’t do it for anyone as it makes me wanna roll into a ball and die. I still love u twin.

Anyways, I have an assignment due in a few hours that I haven’t started and some ice cream in the freezer that I’m thinking will make for a nutritional breakfast. Please someone visit me soon.

Much love,

Piper

  1. Responding to the beef:

The machine has claimed me and you can guess no longer because it’s slowly turning me evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz style. The upside you ask?! Despite the bad press I still have social awareness (yayyyy)

As for a plot to escape to Belgium – a gay brain with access to some inators should really be able to accomplish anything

plans are hatching. thoughts are brewing.

    over and out
