OHOHOHOHHHHH try everyttHINGGGGG
Good morning zootopia!!!
Another week another bloggy. Some good news: I am exempt from taking one of my classes, which means I now get to avoid a semester of group work and automatically gain 5 credits that I did nothing for. Yippee! But I was going to go find muskrats at 5am for this class which kind of peaked my interest. maybe i can still seek muskrats at dawn on my own dime. my inner capitalist longs for a company clock. someone please pay me for my incredible insights and my great rack.
Julian visited me this week! Yay! On Thursday night, we went to a friend’s birthday party where people were shotgunning beers in the kitchen. We played a drinking game outside that I lost terribly and so I had to chug lots of wine. I proceeded to find some instrument in the birthday boy’s room and play it to every single stranger I could find. My sell point? “it sounds like fairies in the forest, just listen”.

Friday we did some work (which I have been slacking on even though I have so much to do) and played Padel in the rain with the friends I made in Bruges. If you’re wondering what it’s like to play a new sport with Dutch people, be prepared for them to actually keep score and play by the rules. You can still try and hit two balls at once though. Also, Padel is fun and i’m not that bad.

Later that night we went to my first Cantus! Since talking to my Belgium roommate, I have come to the conclusion that this was a particularly bad Cantus. Julian and I left halfway through. Basically, a Cantus is a Belgian/Dutch drinking tradition where you sing songs and drink a bunch of beer but have to abide by a bunch of rules set by seniors. Except this was a Cantus for Erasmus (study abroad) students who acted like monkeys and the seniors were not letting us drink.
The next day Julian and i had some bomb brunch and walked around the weekend market and enjoyed the chilly sun. After dropping him off at the train station, I went to a friend’s birthday dinner in Brussels. Except for one of my friends, everyone was over 30 and worked for the European commission. Also the invitation said 6:30 and we didn’t start eating till 8:30. Yeesh
But it was cute and very adult and kind of awkward but still cute. I spoke to the birthday boy’s boyfriend about doing a PhD and he told me to start working on the process ASAP. Oh! Oh. Oh
I spent yesterday and today running errands and doing work. I want to try and do something fun or adventurous this week but I have no money and no time. Maybe I’ll get drinks with my roommates. Sorry for keeping it brief, I need coffee and to make an entire presentation for tomorrow.
Much love,
Piper
